With a properly designed wall charger, this shouldn’t happen, because the output voltage to the phone is only 5 VDC.

With a properly designed wall charger, this shouldn’t happen, because the output voltage to the phone is only 5 VDC. However, with poor design and lack of isolation it is possible that full 120 VAC might have been induced. Tragedy. Never handle anything attached to a wall circuit from inside a shower or in a bathtub (or swimming pool, or whatever).
