/Addendum: I forgot to tie all this back to QTs, but it’s actually very straightforward. Black, Hispanic, and Asian content creators use QTs liberally to offer context— there were several episodes during the November/December #TwitterMigration waves when the request for this must-have feature were met with categorical rejections. That, combined with the micro-aggressions and overt racism on here, erased any perceived upside and drove many away.
BlueSky, for all its flaws, got the QTs right /XX
