Pietro and his team of retired trauma specialists are helping to save lives in Ukraine, but they don’t have all the tools they need. Using their ingenuity, they have begun developing their own software to help share information to be used in the treatment of the many injured and suffering as a result of a devastating war. The only thing standing in their way as they try to deploy this software is a lack of laptops to run it.
These selfless individuals have come out of retirement in service of those who need it most. They operate similarly to Doctors Without Borders but are completely independent. Please help them in their efforts by donating toward our goal. If we don’t reach it, your donation will be returned. Pietro and his team are not in this for anything other than effective altruism. [6/13/23 UPDATE: Based on feedback, we will now allow any amount over the goal to go to Pietro’s group. Please note this is a change to the previous policy. If your donation puts us over the goal, it will no longer be returned. Pietro’s group can easily make good use of the funds.]
Due to the sensitive nature of their work, we ask that you please not share any information you may have about Pietro and his team. They have been the victims of doxxing in the past and their security as well as that of the patients whose lives they touch is of the utmost importance. We are hoping that the goodwill Pietro has earned through our friendships with him on the “Schiit Happened” head-fi thread will be enough to get us to our goal while keeping everybody safe.
