They all think they’re geniuses, when most of the time they’ve gotten lucky.
If you’re really smart, really apply yourself, you might make it. It’s all about being at the right time at the right place with the right idea.
Bezos isn’t a genius, musk might be smart, but he’s not the sharpest tack in the box. They were both in the right place at the right time with the right idea.
It’s not just tech people though. In Arkansas we suffer under business favorable laws mostly crafted by Walmart and ALEC. One of Mr. Sam’s daughter (who’s like 70 something) has multiple yachts. She purchased one of fuckerberg’s yachts used for a couple hundred million. Mr. Sam was in the right place with the right time and the right idea. That’s why there’s a Walmart everywhere.
I worked for Kmart for a number of years and then moved to Arkansas for family reasons and got a job at a Walmart. The difference was night and day. I knew within the first 6 months of working at Walmart that Kmart was doomed. At the time Kmart was still the number one retail outlet in the US.
There needs to be a law protecting news organizations, the media, other than the first amendment. I just have to think that the framers of the Constitution would not have wanted the media to be consolidated in the hands of just a few people in the country. Take the tax exemption off of churches and use that tax to subsidize media.
No billionaire owners either for local newspapers, TVs, radio stations.
Oh yeah, and break up Sinclair
And on a personal note, I met Mr. Sam. He seemed like a nice guy. I shook his hand, talked to him about the department, and then he was gone.

Bezos wasn’t like this during Trump’s first term. Trump, at least not to this extent, wasn’t either. The Post needs someone who can stand up to Trump in his second term.
