It’s late just outside little rock, darkansas. Once again our little state capital has a higher crime rate than, my kind of town, Chicago is kind of town.

The nineties were wild. Highest per capita murder rate in the nation.

I know we had the highest murder rate per capita in the nation.

When compared to Chicago has a lower crime rate the little state capital little rock

[q] However, historical records and news reports from that period show that gang violence, particularly involving the Bloods and Crips, was a significant problem in Little Rock and other parts of Arkansas during the 1990s. Here’s what is known:
Little Rock’s Homicide Rate: The murder rate in Little Rock climbed significantly in the early 1990s, with a high of 76 murders in 1992. This surge was widely attributed to gang and drug violence.
National Attention: The issue gained national attention with the 1994 HBO documentary “Gang War: Bangin’ in Little Rock,” which highlighted the street violence and gang presence, including the Bloods and Crips, in the city.
Law Enforcement Response: In response to the high crime rate, the Little Rock Police Department implemented new strategies, including a “zero tolerance” policy. Law enforcement efforts, including federal prosecutions, led to the incarceration of key gang leaders, which is credited with a subsequent decline in violence. [/q]
